We believe in keeping things open and honest, which is why our newly redesigned, native Employee App is built with complete transparency in mind. Packed with new features and a customized experience, we can't wait for you to try it out!

Introduction to the TipHaus Mobile Employee App

The TipHaus Employee App gives you the power to:

  • Analyze your key metrics, such as your Tip Percentage, Hours Worked, and Take-Home Per Hour.

  • Hone in on which shifts make you the most money.

  • Stay current on the Tip Rules set up at your organization and understand how those rules affect your take-home tips.

  • Send a portion of your take-home to other employees via the "Peer to Peer" function.

  • Sign up for Earned Tip Access to receive daily payouts via HausMoney or HausDirect.

  • Personalize your view across any custom date range while granting access to multiple locations under your organization.

Let's dive in real quick to share what you can find in the Employee App.

Exploring the Home Page

The Home Page of the Employee App gives you instant visibility into your key metrics, including tips received from sales, pooled or shared tip distributions, CC tip fees, and your total take-home pay across specific date ranges. You can also filter by location, customize your widgets, and arrange your layout so the information you care about most is always front and center.

When viewing your tip distribution data, it is important to understand how the numbers are displayed:

  • Positive values (+): Indicate tips that you received or registered.

  • Negative values (-): Indicate tips that you shared or contributed to the team.

⚠️ Important Note: Please keep in mind that you may not see every value or widget mentioned in this guide. The information and features displayed in your app depend entirely on the specific rules and settings configured by your organization.

Filter total take-home earnings by specific dates

By default, the app filters for the "Current Pay Period" right below your take-home amount. Next to that text, you will see an icon of a pencil inside a square. Clicking this opens the Date/Range Selector, allowing you to filter by Today, Last Worked Day, Current Pay Period, or a Custom Date Range

How to Change Locations in the Employee App

If you work at multiple locations, you can easily toggle between them. In the top-left corner of the Home Page, you will see the name of the location you are currently viewing. By clicking on the location name, a drop-down menu will appear showing all the locations you work at, allowing you to filter the data you want to see.

⚠️ Important Note: If your location name does not appear and you only see your take-home amount, it means you have not yet been added to that new location in the system. Please have your management team reach out to our support team at [email protected] for assistance

How to Share Your QR Code to Receive Tips

If your organization has the QR Tipping feature enabled, you can easily share your unique QR code with guests to receive tips directly!

To find and share your code:

  • Locate the QR Icon: Look for the QR code icon located in the top left corner of your screen.

  • Access Your Unique Code: Tapping on this icon will immediately redirect you to a page displaying your personalized QR code.

  • Receive Tips: Simply show this screen to your customers so they can scan it with their phone and send a tip directly to you!

3. Total Tips

  • Total Tips (Net): This is the total amount of all tips registered by the employee before any distributions, sharing, or pooling takes place

4. Tip Summary

  • Tip Percentage: Represents your tipping rate, calculated by dividing total credit card (CC) tips earned by total sales revenue. This metric is personalized per employee and reflects earnings prior to any tip distributions, sharing, or pooling.

  • Tips Per Hour: This metric shows exactly how much you are earning in tips for every hour you work.

5. Other Summary

This widget is highly intuitive and provides a quick, simple glance at your basic performance metrics. It displays:

  • Time Worked

  • Total Sales

  • Average Take-Home a Day

  • Average Take-Home Per Hour

6. Tip Share Widget

This widget acts as a summary of the tips you have shared or received based on your organization's specific tip-sharing rules.

  • Received: The total amount you received from tip share rules. Note: You can click on this value for more granular details.

  • Sent: The total amount you contributed or sent through tip share rules. Note: You can click on this value for more granular details.

  • Tip Share (Net): This is the total net value (Received + Sent), which perfectly matches the Tip Share amount shown in the Breakdown widget.

7. Take-Home Summary

This widget breaks down your final take-home pay after all tip distributions, pools, and shares have been calculated. It shows exactly how much you are walking away with, categorized by each payment type:

  • Credit Card Take-Home

  • Gift Card Take-Home

  • Service Charge Take-Home

  • Cash Take-Home

Customizing Your View (Edit Widgets)

At the bottom of the Home Page, you will find an Edit Widgets bar. Clicking this opens a menu showing all available widgets. From here, you have full control over your layout; you can remove widgets you don't need to see, drag and drop them into your preferred order, and save your personalized view so the most important information is always front and center!

Why Do My Numbers Keep Changing Even After I Was Already Paid?

You might notice that your take-home amount and other values can change after the day ends or even after you’ve been paid. Totals in the Employee App may update due to refunds or shift adjustments processed before the end of the pay period.

Calculations typically run the next day, but they may change if we receive updated data, such as edits to tip-sharing rules or pools, sale edits or refunds, time-punch corrections, or new Peer-to-Peer transactions. If this happens, please contact your employer for details on what may have affected your take-home pay. For further help, you can always contact our support team.
